Calm in the Storm: A Weekend of Yoga & Resilience

Cultivating stillness that holds, even when the ground shifts

The storms and chaos of the world can desiccate us, deplete us, distract us, and even dictate our experience. Our task as yogis committed to empowerment is to nourish ourselves and cultivate equanimity in the eye of the hurricane. To do this, we must learn to move with the storm.

This weekend of all-levels practice is about expanding your capacity to stand strong — and withstand — in a turbulent world. Each workshop blends empowering teachings and mythology from the yoga tradition with an anatomy-forward approach to alignment and vinyasa yoga asana and movement. Along the way, contemplative practices of meditation and pranayama will come alive.

Noah Mazé’s fierce and compassionate dedication to yoga inspires and holds space for students to journey deeper into body, heart, mind, and spirit than they ever could have imagined. Noah is recognized around the world as an accomplished teacher of yoga teachers, and among the most experienced and knowledgeable of yoga practitioners. Noah is the founder of The Mazé Method, recently moved from Los Angeles back to his home state of Colorado. He is ever formulating and evolving a meaningful yoga curriculum to serve yoga students and teachers worldwide (and online) as he circles the globe offering classes, workshops, and trainings. Known for his clarity, study with Noah presents students with powerful opportunities to gain tangible yoga knowledge, bring ancient teachings into potent relevance, and understand the mechanics and anatomy of poses and movement, which they can immediately apply to improve their focus, strength, and abilities, both on and off the mat. Friday, January 23rd

  • 4 PM - 5:30 PM: Steady Body, Steady Mind

    • Increase your physical and mental resilience in this strengthening practice of deep engagement. Activate your core, shoulders, arms, hips, and legs through skills and drills in sun salutation variations, standing poses, and culminating arm balances. Cultivate endurance amid the pairs of opposites — the shifting forces of the world — so that they do not oppress you. As Krishna counsels in the Bhagavadgita: “Cold and heat, pleasure and pain, they are transient, they come and go. Withstand them. The wise person whom they do not oppress, steady in pain and pleasure, is prepared for immortality.”

      • Registration opens one week prior at 4pm.

Saturday, January 24th

  • 10 AM - 12 PM: Strong, Open Heart

    • Crack the code of backbends in a progressive practice that safely and intelligently mobilizes your spine, lengthens your front body, and strengthens your back body. This practice leaves you feeling both strong and open — an antidote to the forward-bending activities of daily life, from desk work to gardening to heavy physical tasks. Register NOW!

  • 2 PM - 4 PM: Gravitas: The Guru Principle

    • Gurutva, the guru principle, is gravitas: grounded stability and the weight of what truly matters. In the whirlwind of life, this practice of supported poses, restorative yoga, hip openers, inversions, pranayama, and meditation will steady you. Feel more grounded, more stable — and ready to re-engage the world with clarity. Register NOW!
