About our Café & Bar:
A healthy mind and body are exactly what we are striving to provide in our café. We have created a menu which centers around fresh juice, smoothies, elixirs, salads, and freshly brewed coffee and espresso-based beverages. Our mission is to give customers choices that will sustain their energy and achieve their goals to have a healthy mind and body. For our bar area, we have 14-taps which serve a rotating selection of beer, focused on hazys and sours. We are looking to put together a talented and experienced team. Whether our customers are picking up a smoothie or want to meet friends and hang out over a beer, our mission is focused on serving our customers and supporting their lifestyle.
Position Summary:
Essential requirements for all positions are complete and total badassery, fearlessness, passion, fire and a relentless desire to serve the customer to complete and utter satisfaction. We expect the most and we are super EXTRA about our standards, so posers beware. We are not interested in excuses, laziness or ego, just good times had by all which means tolerance, respect and hard work. We are queer friendly workplace, so if that doesn’t vibe, keep scrollin.
Essential Duties:
Clearly communicate with customers, community members, and the team in a timely, appropriate, & brand consistent manner.
Organization: Make life easy on coworkers by keeping everything clean and in its designated place.
Self Management: Must be able to balance all side-work within scheduled Shifts. Show up on time & work with efficacy.
Optimistic Problem Solving: Roll with the hiccups of a new business. Love the easy days, tackle the challenges of the rest.
Take care of our customers by making them feel included, taken care of, and important.
Keep a positive and ever-learning attitude.
Consistently prepare all menu offerings, while balancing customer conversations and the cleanliness of work areas.
Accurately operate point of sale and maintain precise money counts.
Restock and prep inventory and product.
Communicate and meet with management as needed
Keep café and back of house clean and orderly, including all seating areas, bathroom, and trash room.
Dependable, Morning person with a good attitude.
Organized, Clean, Energetic, & Self-motivated.
Multi-tasking is necessary
Flexibility & patience is important.
MUST have morning weekends + weekday shifts available
Good social etiquette and able to communicate light positive conversation with customers
Desire to learn and make a solid contribution to the success of NMB.
Has knowledge of food service equipment, supplies, and materials.
Basic food preparation and presentation methods, techniques and safety quality standards are required.
Attention to detail when following instruction.
You have:
2-3 years experience of barista knowledge and badass latte art skillz
Knowledge of a wide range of beers, especially Hazys and Sours. Please, know what a hazy beer is, please.
Upbeat and warm personality
Ability to stand for 8 hours or more per shift
Ability to climb ladders, crouch, and kneel
Plus to those who can consume caffeine, milk, and gluten
Ability to Lift 30lbs
Ability to access online schedule, training materials, and emails
Passion for coffee, beer, healthy food & good customer service
Indiana state Food Handlers permit required.
Must be able to commit to working more than 6 months, do not apply for Summer only or seasonal positions.
